Zero chance. Either there's a February Direct or Nintendo (and others, like Square Enix) has been dropping the ball on giving out Twitter news on spring games. April 2 will be too packed with Switch 2 stuff to cover Switch 1. Except any cross-gen games, won't see Switch 1 again until summer Direct.

I wonder if Nintendo will wait till April to unveil everything, including new Switch 1 games. It's a bad idea if you ask me: Switch 2 needs to be the focus if they wanna reach the maximum sales potential.

Did you know that we've NEVER had to wait this long for a game-related Nintendo Direct? 169 days today matches the longest span - blame Covid-19 in early 2020 for that. Blame Nintendo marketing missteps this time.

Nintendo marketing strategy entirely off rails. Knows behind Switch 1 HW & SW sales expectations in October, but skips Direct. Announces even further behind yesterday, but reminds people of April 2 Switch 2 Direct rather than Switch 1 Direct today.

Wow, Variable Geo and Steam Hearts getting rereleased on modern systems. I remember playing through Steam Hearts to rip out all the animations. That might have been my first time fiddling with PC98 emulation.

They clearly don't want a repeat of the Wii U where focusing on the games first caused people to think the U is the same as its predecessor with a new peripheral. Altho MK9 already looks very similar to 8, so i'm not sure what more can be done.

Nintendo dumb to copy the playbook Sony and Microsoft use: Focusing entirely on how the new console looks and ignoring the fact most of the money and wow power comes from how the games look.
