I have been brutally defeated by the game 500, and a man hole cover.
Playing the game, I slid to catch the frisbee and critically fumbled. A.K.A slid directly over a man hole cover.
Result: ripped the skin on my kneecap off. A-U-F off. So I spent the rest of the evening in the ER, and all today at a different doctor place.
It now takes me 10x longer to do necessary things like:
pee
climb stairs
get up from a seated or lying down position.
Anyone else feel like sharing bodily injury stories.

I suppose I've been pretty lucky when it comes to injuries, only thing to ever happen to me was breaking my wrist by falling down stairs, and a big ol' cut on my leg from tripping on barbed wire. Though, I suppose if it counts, my dentist took 3 hours to get a single wisdom tooth out of my mouth, and I had chosen to only get my mouth numbed instead of going all out drugged. XD

How's your knee now? Was their any damage to the bones or ligaments?

it would be painful if I wasn't filled with vicodin
and luckily there was no bone/ligaments/tendon damage. all soft tissue.
In entirely unrealted news, I made it through 10 FE: Radiant Dawn missions.

I'm barely 3 encounters in and I can't progress any further. >_< I just can't WIN! But I'm glad to hear you'll be ok. I once chipped a bone in my wrist and then went to an amusement park 2 days later. Roller coasters are pretty scary when you're 11 and can't hold on properly.

Ouch that sucks. I did something some what similar when I accidentally tripped on a treadmill once (my foot landed on both the moving belt and the nonmoving support and got sheared). I got some pretty bad turf burns as a result, still nothing compared to what you got.
The worst thing to happen to me wasn't an injury but a kidney stone. That was a fantastic month of fun.
I will also note that FE: RD is alot of fun, I beat it on easy over winter break. I'm gonna take a crack at normal when I get the chance.

2007, July
Broke my left elbow and right foot, was unable to walk without the assistance of a cane for weeks, spent months having to get my arm working again, worst injury I ever had, and as to why it happened and how it happened...thats my business. Lets just say I'll never ever make the same mistake again.
So yeah. Thats mine. It blows.

picture it: YMCA, 1995
a kid (me) goes into the bathroom to get out of a wet bathing suit. I brace my hand on the door.
Do you know what those doors were made of?
Metal.
Do you know what the door closed on? My left thumb.
1. I am left handed.
2.it was June, and we just got out of school
3. the door cut my thumb in half.
the nail still doesn't look quite normal.
that was when I was seven.
That summer. Sucked.

What is 500? Some kind of frisbee game? I thought 500 was a card game.
Anyways, I guess the closest injury I had to that was when I was younger; my family was going out to dinner and the restaurant's parking lot was covered in gravel. I was joking with my brother and when I turned to runa way from him he gave me a slight "push" that sent my upper body tumbling -- I subsequently did a 90 degree flip head over heel and landed on my left forearm; the whole weight of my body landed on my forearm and I slid about five feet. Had a big wound on that arm and it hurt like a bitch. Had a scar going from my forearm down to my left thumb; but it's since faded.

when i was in grade school it was snowing out, and there was a couple of feet, so i thought it would be fun to go jump in it. so i did, then i wanted to get higher up, so i started to jump off the metal well in our front yard. that was fun, but then i wanted to do flips, and i tried, but i didn't jump forward, so i landed on my head on the metal well. that was painful and bloody, and i still have a slight dent on the top of my head.

That explains SO much.
