Irear and Kiese came together out of a need to continue their races' existance.  Yuki and her senpai came together thanks to the antics of two curious young girls.

So Irear needed Seed's seed because her race was girls-only or something like that?

Yep.  Seed's race is entirely male rock beings, with a near-human king born once a generation.  Irear's race is entirely female aquatics.  Irear's race apparently has some funny law that their queen can only mate with royalty, so she goes after Seed.  When Kiese grows into an adult, he accepts the responsibility so the two races can live peacefully and the aquatic royal line won't die off.  Plus it gets the underlings together.

Also, thanks for pointing out the spelling error (Kirear)

"Kirear" sounds like the obnoxious shipping name for their matchup.

Next best thing to Ogerra and Calan and...uh...Sakeed...
