I was messing around with Graphaholic last night and found out how to rip individual animation frames from the Viper games.

I'm not sure if anyone's noticed, but finding animated gifs of Viper GTB is near impossible these days. I think at one point there was a full set of Viper GTB gifs floating around the net, but it's all but lost now, though you occaissionally see gifs of Viper GTB floating around on 4chan.
Anyhow, what I'm getting at is that if I could extract all of the individual frames of animation in Viper GTB, then afterwards I could reanimate them into gifs, and after much hard work, we'd have a full Viper GTB gif set.
Of course, such a project would take hours, as Viper GTB is one of the longest Viper games, not to mention all of the time that would be needed to extract each file individually, and then the time it would take to reanimate, quality check, and so forth each file.
In anycase, I think the possibility of being able to extract any animation from any Viper game is pretty amazing in itself. So far I've only tested it with Viper V16 and Viper GTB, but if happens to work with Viper RSR, or some of the newer games like M3 and M5, then we may be in for a treat after all.
And, to show that I'm not joking, here are some animations I made myself after extracting the necessary files:

Ok. I have most of the GTB gifs but no real place to post them. If you would want to create a group in Yahoo or Microsoft to we could all post what we have or download what we need let me know. Emails are sometimes retrictive.

Update: I found an English version of Graphaholic.

Until I write up a more formal guide:
1. Start up Graphaholic.
2. Find the file that contains a game's CG. In this case, it's SGS.DAT, the file that contains the animations in 90% of the Viper games.
3. Right click on SGS.DAT, and click on "Change Graphic Type" on the menu that pops up.
4. A menu will pop up that says "Select Graphic Type". From the menu, choose 'sognadat'.
5. Now we're ready to roll, son. Right click on SGS.DAT and choose Slideshow. After it processes the files, you'll now be able to view all of the game's individual animation frames and graphics. Use the VCR controls to move on to the next set of images.
Mr. Optional Step 6. Right click on SGS.DAT and choose 'Conversion' from the menu. Then, choose a directory on your computer to save the files to, and click on 'Start'. Bitmap files of all of the animation frames will now appear in the directory you chose. You can now reanimate them into gifs, or just print them out on like Hallmark cards 'n stuff. "Honey, I'm sorry you broke your leg. Carrera wishes you a Happy Rapeday! XD"

Viper Paradice is another matter altogether.
There's a way to extract all of the movies from the Viper Paradice games, but you can't do it with Graphaholic. For that you need EAV2AVI and some basic knowledge of dos commands.
Here's EAV2AVI: EAV2AVI.rar (http://www.hyperguy.net/downloads/eav2avi.rar)
From here, it gets a little complicated.
Viper Paradice's movies are in .eav format and are located in the 'Movies' folder of the game. Using EAV2AVI you can convert them into .avi format, which will allow you to play them normally.
1. First, you need to take EAV2AVI and the movies you'd like to convert and put them in the same folder.
2. Navigate to the folder in Command Prompt and then

For the Movies, EVAtoAVI. (Use google) The rest of the graphics are png format, which any modern image viewer will handle.

Hi, I'm having a few EAV2AVI problems. (Google doesn't give me much) I try to open the application up but I only momentarily see a black DOS prompt window show up. This is in a split second. Then it just closes.
...What's up with that?

That's because it needs to be run in DOS in order to work. To use it you need to be in the directory of both EAV2AVI and the file you want to convert, and have to enter in the command
EAV2AVI nameoffile.eav nameofoutputfile.avi
But wait!
You don't need to use any of that crap at all! JG has introduced me to a program that both runs on EAV2AVI and can be run using Windows.
Here it is: Viper Paradice Movie Converter.rar (http://65.98.68.194/~hyperguy/downloads/viper_paradice_movie_converter.rar)
To use it, simply place eav files 1-5 into the same directory as mvconv.exe and run mvconv.exe.
Wallah! It should convert all five movies into avi files.
Now, does anyone here know how to combine all five movie files into one movie file, without a loss of quality?

Forgive the slowness, but where are the EAV files located? I was searching all night until midnight....
And I seem to get an error with that program. I don't know why, I've been having a few DOS programs lately, if anyone could help that would be great, thanks.
Error: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
EDIT: KHAN! I found it! It's only in the CD, liek wtf. Okay, now I just need to focus on getting this to work.

That's right. It's in the movies folder on the CD. I have no idea what's the deal with the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT error you've been getting.

I googled it. I had to repair a few files by using my Windows XP CD.

Got all those clips. They seem short, lol... The Compilations IMO are better, but... in the Paradice clips there are two "rows" (in the game) of Akira and Carrera clips I haven't seen before. Are these exclusive to Paradice or are they in another game?

They're scenes made exclusively for Viper Paradice. The U.S. version of Viper Paradice includes scenes from Viper Lanjerie Red and Black, but not all, and at a lower video resolution.
Then there's also Viper Lanjerie Purple, which has a few more scenes from the Viper games, though last I checked it didn't have any exclusive movies.

HG, shame on you. The English Paradice is exactly like the Japanese Paradice in movie content. Both Japanese and International Paradices have 320x200 movies; the ones from Red, Black, and Violet (not Purple!) are 640x400.

How I understood it was that the International version has a combination of movies from Red and Black, and at 320 x 200 resolution. By that logic there wouldn't have needed to be a Japanese release, since in Japan it would have been a rerelease with less content than what was already available. Yet, there was. I checked back and saw that Viper Paradice was also released in Japan.
There are some missing movies in the International version. The lesbian scene featuring Akira, Saki, and Karin, and a scene with Carrera and Ogawa aren't in the International version at all.

Those are both black exclusives I think. TO my knowledge, the Int'l version is probably has the exact same movies as the Japanese one.

GTS has got to be the best example of what a hentai game should be.
Instead of going through a thousand lines of dialog to win over a girl, the first thing it gives you is sex, sex, and more sex. It's amazing they were able to implement a story at all with the amount of sex scenes. Even though it's short, GTS cuts to the chase-I'd imagine it would have been a longer game if they had included all of the bullshit prerequisites to fucking that are found in your run of the mill hentai game.
Sure, I mean, there's nothing wrong with dating sims, but as far as porn is concerned from a Westerner's point of view I'm going to see some action before considering investing my time in yet another relationship with an imaginary anime girl. Carrera delivers in GTS.

It's Violet on the game disc (GOKULANV) and in every viper-related canon I've seen (such as sales pages with titles in both japanese and english). I realize purple and violet are the same color, but Violet is the form Sogna chose, so its the proper designation.
And only Red, Black, and Violet have the large AVIs.

Most of the Sogna/Viper stuff I have I've had for many years now. For a few of the things I didn't, Hyperguy has helped fill in the holes, and I've done the same for him.
I'm still on the hunt for M5, and V8R, plus alot of old pre-Viper games (Animahjong V3, for example). My copy of Guynarock has also gone bad, so I wouldn't mind a new one of those. These are the things I don't think either of us have.

Concentrate on the GTB animations in reverse order - end of game backwards. I've made some of my own over the years up until about the final battle with Tarma. Eventually I should catalog what I have, so someone else can redo them (if they're in bad format or skipping frames) and do the ones we'd still be missing.
I may work with HG on that as soon as the gallery gets back up.

A big thumbs up to Hyperguy for sending me a working version of GTB. I've been working pretty furiously on creating the animations. Unlike the other versions, the animation in GTB is harder to create. Every single image file is a different size, and must be cropped, changed to RGB mode, etc. Its a real hassle, but the end justifies the mean.
Some of the animations in this, are so damn hot. Without a doubt, the best Viper animation i've ever seen.
I'll make a preview image pack soon.

I made a whole slew of gifs from Viper GTB and RSR while I've been gone. Right now I'm in the process of animating all of the sex scenes in Viper GTB. I figure that all of the nonhentai scenes can wait, since animating those would mostly be for shoots n goggles.

Just to note, the 6th and 7th scenes from GTB look great! I can't wait until they're done.

You'll find most of the Saki H stuff is from Viper-V16. Her GTB H role is limited to a single scene with Karin (the uber cute blonde one) and Irear's two maids.
And as far as Viper blue haired girls go, Lilia from F40 blows Saki away.

Gimme a two base error for completely forgetting to include Miki from CTR and Julietta from RSR (though Julietta's strays toward purple). They top Saki as well.

Lilia: This one I disagree with, because isn't she only in one scene really? (including the yellow towell)
So yeah, I just wish there were scans of Saki. In the waitress-skirt outfit, she's pretty good looking. =D

F40 only has four sex scenes, so another way of looking at it is Lilia's in 1/4 of them. That tops Saki's ratio in any of the games she appears in. Plus the F40 scenes are much longer than V16.

Original Paradice (movie set #2) and Lanjerie Black (set #3) - the Asuka and Miki scenes weren't in Violet. And of course, they weren't gifs in either of those but video files isntead (most of which make good gifs though)

When you convert the movies from their native format they're segmented into 5 seperate movie files. What I basically did was took 5 short movies and encoded them into one movie in divx format. I think the audio and animation differences are in the original movies; some of the voices and animation don't play at the same speed or with the same timing as the originals, but it's only a difference of a few milliseconds.
Anywho, since everyone was able to download and play them just fine I'm going to try encoding the rest into Divx format and putting them up for download. I know that the gallery supports uploading movie files. Then again, it may be best to put them in the downloads section on the main page. I'll just have to try both and see which works best, because the gallery's already bloated with content as it is. I don't think many people would expect to find movies there since there's so many images.

Could be. The video file should be backward compatible, though I'm not sure how far back. I know it'll work with the latest version of Divx.

Lately I've been using Flash a lot more and more. I'm learning it little by little so I can make a flash website.
Anyhow, I tried making a Viper animations in flash:

What's cool about this flash file is that it scales pretty well, is comparable in file size to its gif equivalent, and most importantly, doesn't lose any quality(since it's essentially using compressed gif images).
If I could just figure out how to play or convert the PCM files in the SGS.DAT for Viper V6, then I'm going to try converting "The Devil Came" story from Viper V6 into a flash game.

Director MX has an Insert | Media Element | Shockwave Audio... option on the menu. One of the import formats for that function is mp3.

Yes, but the pcm files won't play at all in conventional player like Winamp. I start first by extracting them from the SGS.dat file using Grapholic, but for some reason the files don't behave like a sound file should. Like audio converters won't recognize them and I don't know of what codecs I'd need to play a pcm file. I think I should be able to play them normally, but maybe the case with these is that they're still compressed in some fashion so they don't play normally.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I'm talking about the sound effect and voice files that are in the sgs.dat file. I know I can get the music tracks to play in flash.

The gallery is unaccessible to most people right now. You can read the whole reason why at the root page (http://www.hyperguy.net/). (Yeah, I'm always right about these things.)
I think Hyperguy's now set it up so that if you have a certain number of posts you can get into the gallery, because I can. I can't confirm what number of hits it takes or if its just me. (And if it's just me, why? I probably already have everyhting in the gallery anyhow...)

I'm going to keep the gallery restriction free for as long as I can. Maybe it's not smart bandwidthwise, but at the same time I want to look out for all of the people who don't know all of the tricks when it comes to getting images.
Actually, now that I think about it...
I remember how cool it was when I first learning to use the internet. There was this one site I'd always go to for images. Maybe some of you have heard of it, it's a large gallery of character specific images called the CG Shrines. Long story short, I didn't know anything about how to find images and for me, that site was a godsend. I'm thinking there's probably someone like that who visits this site right now, and the least I can do is not make things difficult for them by requiring them to register or have a certain amount of posts. And, maybe, just maybe, they'll be inspired and somewhere down the line create their own gallery and continue to share the wealth.

But little did I know, a new developement is occuring!
People are actually using less bandwidth this month than they were last month, and I don't think it's just because of the removal of the gif gallery. It seems that after I posted the message about bandwidth on the front page people have been using less and less of it, and in some cases, I've been getting e-mails from people asking me if it's okay to use up lots of bandwidth again, or if they should wait it out some more.
It really is an interesting developement because now it looks like we'll be going under the amount of bandwidth we normally use this month if the rate continues. Currently we're going at the rate of 1.19 GB of bandwidth used a day, which is less than half of last month's rate, which was roughly 3 GBs a day.

See now, I consider Spanglish to b what the cholos I used to work with in California would use to openly mock me. I mean, I knew enough Spanish to know what they were saying and no translation was needed for the Englais. Engrish, however, knows no borders. You need only a passing familiarity with English to get by in Engrish, or just access to Babelfish. No Japanese necessarily required. There is some great Engrish on signs all across Europe, for example. Hell, Americans speak to me in Engrish, all the time for that matter.
I've even made my own from translating my kids' children's books into Japanese and back with Babelfish. The results were like Zero Wing kiddie theatre. "What a naughty kitten! No dinner for you!" ----> "How mischievous child cat. There is no supper."

A lot of women hate the taste of sperm, honestly, but some do enjoy it, it's more of a sexual thing than a taste thing, but eventually people with fetishes tend to enjoy whatever they're infatuated with. There are a lot of websites and such with live action forms of this sort of thing. For the most extreme, Bukkake is the holy grail of cumshots, with upwards of 100 men spooging on a single girl.

I'm not much of a fan for Mercedes, but I have to say in GTS she looks a lot better (in my opinion at least).
Overall Viper GTS was amazing (just recently got all the episodes).

I don't understand how to make a gif with the bmp files. I know they are just the frames of every animation in the game, but why are some pictures missing some parts? How am I supposed to make a gif with those?

To make gifs from bmp files, you first need a gif making program.
I'd recommend using ImageReady. It comes with Photoshop.
You'd take all of the bitmaps and put them in a single folder and import them into ImageReady all at once.
As for pictures that are missing parts, it really depends on which Viper game you're making gifs of.
Most of the new ones have sections of an animation with a big blue area. Basically, you're supposed to delete that blue area and overlay a frame ontop of it in order to make one complete image, which is considered one frame. The blue areas appear transparent when a Viper game is running so that different layers of animation can occur.

I was messing around with Graphaholic last night and found out how to rip individual animation frames from the Viper games.

I'm not sure if anyone's noticed, but finding animated gifs of Viper GTB is near impossible these days. I think at one point there was a full set of Viper GTB gifs floating around the net, but it's all but lost now, though you occaissionally see gifs of Viper GTB floating around on 4chan.
Anyhow, what I'm getting at is that if I could extract all of the individual frames of animation in Viper GTB, then afterwards I could reanimate them into gifs, and after much hard work, we'd have a full Viper GTB gif set.
Of course, such a project would take hours, as Viper GTB is one of the longest Viper games, not to mention all of the time that would be needed to extract each file individually, and then the time it would take to reanimate, quality check, and so forth each file.
In anycase, I think the possibility of being able to extract any animation from any Viper game is pretty amazing in itself. So far I've only tested it with Viper V16 and Viper GTB, but if happens to work with Viper RSR, or some of the newer games like M3 and M5, then we may be in for a treat after all.
And, to show that I'm not joking, here are some animations I made myself after extracting the necessary files:

So, you're saying that you can't paste all the GIFs to make an animation? If that's it why don't you try GIFAnimator, it takes like a minute to make one. I'm a newbie at making animated GIFs, in fact started 3 days ago, but with that program is simple. As long as the only thing you have to do is paste them and not make anything translucid or change backgrounds whcih is the thing I can't do.

All the viper animation files have the transparent parts marked by a solid color (I assume you mean transparent since translucid isn't a word, and the closest thing it sounds to, "translucent" doesn't make much sense for gif animating), so as long as you're using a program with a transparency marker (which you should be, an animation program without a transparency tool is kinda useless) then it's pretty easy. They make it hard sometimes when there's no clear indication of how the animated part lines up on the background (like Bravan's fist in my avatar). It's a bit tricky, but a couple screencaps of the animation in-game and some improvisation and it comes out looking close enough at least.

Yes, a lot of those portions of the animation are from the DVD edition, which greatly extends the Julietta scene.
