Raika (2) vs Saki [Rise] (6): VGOTY2009: Purple Division Semifinal

This is one of the few match-ups where I've liked both participants near evenly. Still, I chose Raika in the end because she's a cop on the edge(or something similar), and I love a good cliché.

Like both,and the Drawing are similar.....I go for Saki.

I like Rise, but Saki seemed like the weak link compared to the other girls.  I'm voting for Raika, but I think who ever advances won't get any further.

I actually considered putting the Guynarock and Animahjong girls in this thing.

I started by listing all the VIPER girls with significant enough presence to warrant inclusion and ended up with 75 girls, combining Cyomi with Ruri and Milfy with Mai.  There wasn't enough in Guynarock (5) and Animahjong (10) to bring it to a nice number like 128 or even 96 without adding really obscure unnamed characters or non-canon characters from the V series novels, so they were dismissed at that point and I had to trim the list down to 64.

First goes Contestant #3 from Afternoon, and Maki's two classmates from M1's The May Works.  They don't have names so sayanora. 72 remain.

Next go the four aquarian guards, Tarma's four genetic freak guards, and Hrmoni's captive from GTB.  We had enough Rise girls already (6), so no great loss. 63 now. Hmm.. how best to add one back?

I split Cyomi and Ruri into separate entries, and Milfy from Mai.  Back up to 65.

The last one cut was the Queen from BTR.  She was the only one I felt bad about becuase she had a significant enough speaking part to warrant inclusion.  I thought out taking her and dropping the non-game entries, Shiori and Ratty, but this contest just wouldn't have been complete without Ratty.  So I made a tough call between Shiori and Queen and decided Shiori had a better chance to succeed in this thing (and I was proven right) so she got the nod.  Shrewd deduction skills will lead one to conclude that Shiori was therefore the last one to make the field.

And we have our 64.

What about Irear's attendants? Enough Rise characters already, I know, but surely they should have been considered before the other GTB battle opponents since they actually got a pretty good H scene all to themselves.

And what about the girls from Reserve and Vision in the Island series?

Sorry, I did have Irear's attendants in there.  I misremembered the total count and exactly who all  was cut to pare down the list to 64.  The maids got dropped at the same time as the other GTB girls.

I never considered the Vision or Reserve girls at all.  I did briefly consider Karumi from the Bravan chapter in Typing, but don't recall putting her on the list of (apparently) 77 names.
