V8-R Help
« on: February 15, 2009, 03:02:19 pm »
Hi! Sorry if this is a repeat topic, I looked through the backlog of pages and couldn't find an answer! If I missed it, I apologize! I can't seem to figure out what the problem is... everytime I get to the three options in the detective agency game in the very beginning it just keeps repeating over and over and none of them seem to be the right choice! Does anybody happen to know what I need to do in order to move on in the game? Thanks in advance!

I think its a bug in the game, as I've never gotten past it either.  To my knowledge, there's meant to be a fourth choice after you've tried the first three.  There was probably a patch to fit it but it didn't stay up long enough on Sogna's site for anyone to have a download of it.  Either that or the acces to this fourth choice is somehow hidden or must be unlocked through the right combination of doors.  I know that I once tried all combinations of 4 door sequences with no luck.

Either that or the fourth choice was only designed to appear on genuine Japanese versions of Windows.  Now wouldn't that be a cruel joke from Sogna?

However, this would be a great opprotunity for 黒い灯影 to use his SGS hacking skills and provide us with a bugfix, if he can tear himself away from RSR for a little bit.

Since your catering to my ego, sure, I can take a look at it :P
If someone can provide or point me to where I can download the game.
I'm currently working on Viper RSR, as JG00 said, I figured out a few more things such as, changing BGM, "click to proceed/wait" commands, animation codes...etc

Is Viper V8R the same as the V8 DVD edition???

It's a combo of six. 2, 1, 3, 1, 3, 2. Hope you like shota, because that's all the payoff you get.

Wow, never would have figured that out. I think after all the time of having it, it was more of a "what does the red button do" curiosity than anything else. Even so, not terrible (like you said, if you're into Shota). Thanks for the help! You're awesome.

Thanks also to JG00 and 黒い灯影 for taking the time to help, too! Problem solved!

I don't know of any DVD version of the original V8, so I presume you're talking about the same thing.  V8 R is indeed DVD media.  Not to be confused with V8 Classic Collection, which comes in a DVD-style case but is in fact CD media.

I think I've only played through this once and encountered the same problem, so I just stopped playing and looked at the animation using Grapholic instead.

The torrent I'm downloading from has a V8 DVD Edition. Probably mislabeled.

Thanks for the help. But now I have a question about Demon Night. Is there anymore toit? When the Succubus comes, it eventually gives you two choices, and both just take me back to the main menu. Is that all there is to this game?

There is no happy end to Demon's Night.  It pretty much ends right after that choice point.

This is one of the reasons why V8 is undisputedly the worst VIPER game.

To access more toit you have to put in a special code.  Hold L2 and press L1 26 times before Sogna disappears from the screen.
