Viper M3 Problems
« on: April 14, 2006, 02:00:51 pm »
I downloaded M3 off of EDonkey, and when I start it up with Daemon, the game won't let me install. It goes most of the way through, then it says it can't find a certain file.

Also, it lets me access the game without installing but it won't let me save. Is their anyway to fix it? And if not, is their a save game file out their that will work with the CCD/Daemon format?

Which file does it say it can't find?

Voice.dat

But I can hear the voices when I play it without installing, so it can't just be that the file isn't there.

Maybe the entire file didn't get copied over to your hard drive.  See if the file size is exactly 184,665,014 bytes. Or maybe you can copy the file directly from the cd to the hard drive?

But if you can play it without installing, exactly what's the big problem?  Is it not being able to save?  If so you could potentially create a directory called "save" on your simulated CD and put he clear.dat, system.dat, and save####.dat files in there. Might also need to make your HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SOGNA\M3-3.2-\INSTALLDIR registry key point to your simulated cd rom drive letter instead of C:\Program Files\sogna\m3\
