Remember Jaws: The Video Game for the Nintendo?

That was cool.

In case you haven't read my post earlier, it really wasn't.

I'm not going to stifle your opinion, you can like it if you want. But I found the game to be EXTREMELY repetitive.

Allow me to elaborate, if you will. Imagine just sailing around until BAM! You hit something and are forced to swim around under the water, shooting at three types of enemies max. And you get conch shells to buy upgrades. Upgrades that are USELESS until power level 9.

The three enemies? Jellyfish, stingrays (I think they're stingrays...) and sharks. And then there's JAWS, who's obviously a resized shark sprite. And unless you're power level 9, you're going to be shooting hundreds of spears at him if he hits your ship.

And the last fight is too damn hard. You have to be dead on accurate and have ungodly timing. The last fight... well, anyone remember the fourth Jaws movie? I believe it was "The Revenge?" No one remembers? You know why? BECAUSE THAT MOVIE SUCKED ASS. But I digress. The Jaws video game is based off that very movie, and the final battle with Jaws is a total ripoff of the movie. You know, ramming a ship into it.

I will admit, this game COULD have been fun. But somewhere down the line, they just went and said "let's make a game about shooting stuff underwater, then make it really boring".

Let's just face it, the game is not fun. It's one of the worst. Why? Because LJN made it!

No, seriously.

The best game featuring sharks and aquatic gameplay was Ecco the Dolphin.

Wait: are you describing Jaws, or every RPG ever made?

You don't need to level up to 9 to beat Jaws. The third power upgrade makes you strong enough so you can begin picking away at him.

How many types of enemies did Super Mario Bros. have? Four? Five, maybe?

I agree with you on one point: finishing off Jaws. I don't think the encounter is all that hard, since you don't get Game Over for failing at it; however, using the 4th Jaws' movie as the basis for the game's climax was lame. They should have used the classic sequence from the original film, where Chief Brody blows up the shark using a shotgun and an airtank. That would have been awesome.

I'm sorry, but that game sucks.

The whole idea of a dolphin fighting aliens is cool, but the game is just too damn boring and frustrating.

I liked the puzzles, but then again, I've always had a thing for puzzles in video games. It was very rewarding.

You guys can debate crappy games all you want. But all that matters is that Spaceworlder stated the facts.

Brody blowing up Jaws at the end of the first movie = Win.

Spaceworlder's avatar reminds me.

The Jurassic Park game on SNES. THAT was a fun Movie-Game, one of few that I actually still enjoy today and don't look back to say "WTF why did I like this shit"

Jurassic Park FTW. (The first movie was one of my all time favourites, but any sequels blew more shit than a man with diarreah sticking his anal cavity into a leaf blower - Blowing end of course, and turning it on afterwards.)

I thought Jurassic Park III was a decent sequel to the original. The Lost World, on the other hand, was God awful.

Meh, I liked Lost World.  Mind you the original is the best, but it was fun seeing a T-Rex rampage in downtown San Deigo.  Then again the T-Rex ain't got nothing on Godzilla.

Lately, I've been playing me some Gunstar Heroes and Alien Soldier on my Genesis emulator.  The only SNES rom I've played lately's been Legend of the Mystical Ninja(Ganbare Goemon).  I remember how I went out and bought Gradius 3 after playing the Gradius minigame in the amusement park.  Good times.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!"
"GUWOOOOOOH!"
