Thanksgiving

All I wanna know is: Who're you celebrating it with, what did you eat, and how much of it did you eat. And when you weren't eating, what were you doing?

I'm having Thanksgiving with my Dad's family and his wife's family. This means 2 Thanksgiving meals, more or less back-to-back, with plenty of parade and football on tv as background noise. Food promises to be good (it always rocks) so I'll update on the specifics Sunday when I get back.

Spending mine with the immediate family, so that means both my brothers, my parents, my brothers' dogs, my oldest brother's wife and my older brother's girlfriend.  We have a collection of football eats from spinach artichoke dip I have made to other goodies.  Dinner will have two 11 lbs turkeys one oven roasted and one deep fried. I will report on the rest later but for now... I have cleaning and reading to do..

I'll be with my mothers side of the family, my grandparents on my dads side are in Florida right now, so it ain't happenin'.

Plus my grandfather on my moms side is diabetic and stuff, so the food will be much healthier.

I'm spending Thanksgiving with my immediate family, which is comprised of: my mother, step-father, mother's mother, sister, brother-in-law, nephew, sister #2, best friend, dogs, cats, parrots, and Xbox 360.

We're going to eat food that's super fattening, and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I wouldn't have it any other way. >:-)

As usual, I'll be hangin' with my mom's side of the family come turkey day (tomorrow).This means my Great Grandma Bessie, Uncle Earl (the one that gives me weapons for Christmas), Granpda Hank, Grandma Belen, Cousin Cheryl and however-I'm-related-to-him-I-forget Binoy (that little dude kicks ass).

There's gonna be turkey, ham, pumpkin cheesecake, sodas, a bunch of other random foods and best of all, my grandma Belen's homemade egg rolls.

The past couple of years haven't been constant for me interms of where I was at for Thanksgiving but usually I am with my parents and siblings.  We have a big turkey, with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, greenbean casserole, buns, and a salad.  Good times.  We also play board games and we used to play basketball but someone would always end up getting hurt so we stopped that tradition.

North of the border here, so we celebrated Thanksgiving a little while back.  Didn't do anything special, and didn't eat any turkey.

I'll be at my sister's house with some of my other relatives.  I'll probably be gorging upon the usual turkey, mashed potaters, rolls, gravy, Nyquill, corn, and chicken medley I create every year on my plate.  Then...blissful slumber.

Not doing anything of merit.  My aunt had surgery last week and my mom on Wednesday morning so nobody's fixed anything.  Plus my parents have to take care of my grandparents and will have a small turkey lunch at the nursing home.  My Thanksgiving meal: leftover pizza.  Yum.

I'm going watch the football games if they aren't blowouts (likely, since Detroit is involved), rake leaves if they are, and play some RO.  Already finished ordering an XBOX360 from Dell this morning - 15% off the Pro system (the one with hard drive), only $340 plus free shipping. Added the new Sonic and Gears of War games (also 15% off w/ free shipping)

Good day so far, lets see how tomorrow morning at 5am goes.



Black Friday Update: It went well.  Scored five of the six bargains I was looking for: 17" MAG LCD monitor ($80), Linksys Wireless N router ($130 with $30 gift card), and internal Pioneer 16x dual layer/dual format burner ($30) from Best Buy; a pair of 500V APC Back-UPS from Office Depot ($20 each, would have got more but two is all they had when I got to them); and Halo 2 ($17) from Circuit City for my new 360.  Only thing I missed was that 19" Samsung widescreen LCD monitor ($130) at Best Buy.  Guess 4 o'clock wasn't early enough to get there, as I was probably about 800th in line - still surprised I hauled away the other monitor, though.

I worked Black Friday at my seasonal job.  I lucked out too; they put me in the food section of the store and I got barely any foot traffic, as opposed to toys and electronics, which got slammed really hard despite everyone on the roster working that day.

I avoided Black Friday altogether by staying home while my step-mom went out shopping. Nothing I need to buy by now, anyway. I ate 2 plates of sweet potatoes, honey baked ham, green peas, snap beans, corn, turkey casserole, then consumed half of a chocolate cake on my own.

Eh, my Thanksgiving break was okay, nothing too special.  My parents and I went up to my aunt's house, and I met a couple of distant relatives of theirs.  I picked up a few boosters of the new Cyberdark Impact Yugioh expansion (and didn't get any holofoils, as usual...  -_- ), and managed to rack up a 356-chain fighting skeletons in the Lhusu Mines on FFXII.  Other than that, I threw my sleeping schedule out of whack by staying up late and sleeping late into the afternoon...  but I tend to do that on a regular basis anyway, so yeah, that's about it.  =/

Still waiting for my folks to get enough money for the computer I'm wanting, which will probably have to wait until my birthday in January unless I can find a job over the Christmas break.  The employees up at my local Wal-Mart (which I worked at briefly last summer) said that they aren't hiring right now, but I know damn well that they're going to need some help this time of year...

My thanksgiving was fun.  I got to spend lots of time with my cousins and family members.  We had 2 thanksgiving day, both in which involved a birthday too.  So I got cake and turkey.  Yummy .
