Is Yuka Takeuchi rich?

Something I've been wondering about. The prize for winning Variable Geo is a massive amount of money, right? And Yuka's won most of the tournaments, so shouldn't she be filthy rich by now? Or does she keep blowing the money somehow?

I think it would be a respectable amount of money, but not the kind that sets you up for life.  Maybe something that translates to $25,000 USD - certainly not enough to make quit her day job or skip a year of the tourney.

Strangely though, in VG Neo Yuka's would be riches are nowhere to be found.

Maybe she lost it in a scam(she's never struck me as especially bright) or had to splash out on an adamantium spine?
Or maybe she realized that she had Protagonist Power and decided to keep giving the prizes to charity, as she knew she could always win again.

Yeah, I remember that too.  Perhaps the prime real estate wasn't really that prime, and perhaps it was 10 million yen not dollars.  That would explain her going through the cash so quick.

Or it could be that the prize wasn't actually awarded at the end of the tournament.  I know in original game at least, Yuka goes on to be a police officer after the tournament.

Hey, least they were playing fair there, as the participants knew what they were getting into (or at least we think they did). Promising a massive cash reward then not actually granting it is just out of line.

Non-canon, but in the Sudou Sankan doujinshi I got recently, Yuka is working part time at Anne Mitter's.  Could be indication that her Hannah Miller's paycheck may not be quite enough.

Of course, the outfit at Anne Mitters looks better, too, so maybe she's just doing it for fashion's sake.
