Some questions about viper games
« on: February 07, 2008, 11:45:08 am »
Hi all,
I recently just want to find Viper V10 and V12, so I went to
http://www.sognadigitalmuseum.com/forum/index.php?topic=1581.0

However, as soon as I downloaded V10 and tried to play it, I can't run the game. Can anyone give me a proper version?

Also, I have downloaded some viper games before, but the savedatas (*reg) found on the website mostly don't work.....
Can anyone tell me why? I have V16 (both RISE and IMAGINE) but when the savedatas are applied, they dont work properly.

For RISE, I managed to call the "REPLAY MODE" in the main title of the game, but after clicking one of the H scenes, no H scenes appeared but an opening movie did(many Japanese texts) =.=

For IMAGINE, there isn't any changes when I applied the savedata.

I hope someone can help me out, thx ^^

A verified working copy of V10 can be purchased in the forum shop.  In two more posts you'll earn enough hueys to afford it.

The current user registry key changed slightly between Windows 98 and Windows 2000.  A Windows 9x save file will have something like HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\SOGNA\ in the key path.  The same Windows 2000 or newer file would have HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SOGNA\ instead.  Edit your .reg file to use the registry key path appropriate for your operating system.

V16 replays do not go directly to the scene like later VIPER games.  They merely replay the entire game from the beginning and automatically makes the choices for you to get to that ending.  (That's why its called "Replay" and not "Scene Select".)

Oh I see..
However, I think my V16 IMAGINE is not entirely in Japanese version since the installing directory is called "V16-US".
So, the reg savedata may not work...
Does anyone have the savedata of the US version of IMAGINE?

Same .reg file will probably work, you just need to change the registry key path form the Japanese version to the international version.
Try HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SOGNA\V16_US\IMAGINE

THX JG00
Can you tell me where I can find who the voice actresses are in viper games?
Some of the voice actresses impress me a lot, so I want to check their information.

Only the later games gave vocal credits.  Obviously you'd have to complete the game to see those credits (or rip out the credit graphics with Grapholic)
I'm not aware of any major voice actress that did VIPER games though, so any information you find is likely to be minimal.
