Check out this article:

Then check out what this guy did with a Wiimote (in case you didn't see it on Penny Arcade on Wednesday):

Here's the website with the rest of his Wiimote projects:

Caught this on Penny Arcade.  Still awesome however.

Well this looks like a much better idea than the visor cap I've seen in magazines lately. Anyone else seen the ads? Pop up in EGM all the time, promoting this new 'fully immersive gaming experience' with something that looks like those old Virtual Boy systems. Remember these headache-inducing nightmares?

I still have nightmares of following the red outlined Wario while by eyes began melting out of their sockets.

The idea of a visor helmet for fully immersive gaming's nothing new.  They've been trying to push it since the early 90s.  It's just that it's never really been done well.

Virtual Boy was kind of lame in that it was a portable gaming system you'd have to have a table or other flat surface to use.

I've seen photos of people who attached velcro straps on their VBs so they could wear them on the head.  I know of no games where one would benefit from this though, and the VB is very heavy so you couldn't play long before your neck got sore.

The Bomberman Puyo Puyo clone "Tobidase! Pani Bon" for VB is excellent though.  Not sure they ported it to USA though...

The Virtual Boy was freaking AWESOME.  Except for the whole acute eye strain like steak knifes through your eyesockets that would affect you after a few minutes of play.
