What is everyone's art-styles?
« on: June 18, 2006, 04:32:26 pm »
When i started out,my art style wasn't too great,i couldn't find the right medium. It also doesn't help that (Due to a rare eye disease),i'm almost completely blind in one eye, plus i'm nearsighted and have bad nightvision. When i picked up on Ranma 1/2 when that hit the USA,i began trying to teach myself how to draw anime/manga style.Since i did that,my art got alot better, and i continue to draw anime/manga style. Here's what i like to draw most often:

Anime/manga series:
Ranma 1/2
Sailor Moon
Bubblegum Crisis/Crash/Tokyo 2040
Pokemon (can't draw the Pokemon too well, but i'm great at the humans)

USA series:
TMNT (Classic cartoon, but i'm trying the new cartoon style, also)
Batman The Animated Series

Video game series:
Megaman (Original,X,and i'm in my first attempts at Battle Network art)
Phantasy Star Online (One of my faves!)
Resident Evil (Yeah, odd,i actively draw anime style RE artwork...lol)
Castlevania (Everyone loves this huge poster i did of Sonia Belmont from CV Legends)

So,what is everyone else's art style like?

I actually drew in a fairly eclectic style.

I mixed Victorian Europeon style artistic techniques with Anime, making for some interesting characters, but I gave up drawing because of hand surgery. And I probably couldn't draw now if I wanted to.

Part-Marvel, part-anime. The facial features and hair are very anime; the body designs are very Marvel. I hate it (I wish it was pure marvel) but can't manage it.

here's something i drew around easter time that i meant to put in that bunnygirl thread a while back.  i'm afraid my drawing pad's bigger than my scanner, so the edges got cropped.  =/  anyway i'm trying to have a similar style to Toshinari Yamashita (the character designer for nanako, divergence eve, etc.), along with my own personal style.  i still need a lot of work, though - my curves aren't that curvy, and i tend to stretch the lower torso/waist area.  sorry if the image is so huge...

To be honest I have my own style, not anything else, for example the picture on my left.

Here's my character based off of me. I KNOW his name is mine in Japanese, that was the point. He doesn't look a whole lot like me, though.

Kiinan is in several ideas I'm working on, including, but not limited to, a regular story, a Dating Sim, a beat-em-up, an RPG and a Battle Royale fansequel.

This is his RPG form, when he invokes Soul-Out, which fuses him with his Mystic Spirit, SunStar the Honoo Houou (Fire Phoenix) Mystic. Mystics were humans with great powers from 1000 years ago, but they died out soon after a war. Certain spirits' bodies never really died (the Yami Mystic leader absorbed their bodies), so they couldn't get into either Heaven or Hell. But certain of the OTHER race of humans (Ordinaries) could take in, communicate with and utilize the powers of the Spirits. These rare Ordinaries became known as "Shells."

One half of the Mystics, Shadow Mystics, hated Ordinaries and were eager to kill them. The others, Guardian Mystics, went out of their way to protect them. This was the cause of the war between the two factions.

Now the Guardian Mystics still strive to aid their inhabited Shells, while the Shadows use them for their own evil purposes.

Such is the plot for my RPG idea.

Yuriko and Chiharu there both have an immense crush on Kiinan. Chiharu is a bit more protective of him though.
Blazing Phoenix Pawaa, ABARE!

I started trying to draw anime once I started watching DBZ and Tenchi Muyo, I have gotten much better since the beginning, but I mostly draw in my own style of anime or manga

Shirt looks vaguely Gaia-esque. Hm. Good work on that pose though.

I'm not sure what my artsyle is. Tied between cartoony and Masami Oobari style, I think my style differs in between the style itself.

My style is still developing, though is not getting the attention it needs as I have to do classes, work and all that. I've been trying to add more meat to my girls so I am talking Hiroyoshi Kira's style, though I want a little more East and West Fusion as well.

I've been told by people that my art style looks like Tenchi Muyo's.  I don't see it.

Sorry i'm taking up so much space...but Hyperguy wanted to see what i'd do with this pic...it's Baxter Stockman's fly form from the old TMNT cartoon, but it's my own variant.

I make him have a more sinister look, giving him fangs, clawed fingers and toes, and snake's eyes.I color his hair red because i liked it that color in the Turtles in Time arcade game.
