Google does own Youtube after all.

Quick, search Google Video for it.

Goodness, its not even an hour since your post and the video's already gone, HG.

woot, found it

oh my god watching the otaku in japan just makes me want to cry... can only watch the first clip; the other two... no, i just can't
Watching the third one made me cry.  I thought it was hilarious that even Japan sees some US anime fans as unusual(Or at least, that was the spin that this particular broadcast used.)  I guess that if you're in your 40s and are singing theme songs to children's shows it doesn't matter what side of the pacific you're on: You're still going to be looked at as some kind of weirdo.

Ah, about the third one, Otaku no Video(Not to be confused with the awesome Japanese anime by Gainax.)  When one of the people on there said that 'anime fans compete to become the superlative otaku' it made me realize something.  I couldn't help but notice that computer users do this too.  All in all 'competing to become the superlative otaku' kind of feels like 'competing to be the biggest loser' or 'competing to be the most pathetic' since I don't see myself respecting someone who has the entire special edition DVD boxed set of Record of Lodoss War any more than your average Joe. :o

Person: "I've built the most powerful computer ever!  It's got 10 gigabytes of DDR8 RAM, 600 tetrabyte hard drives, and a quadruple core processor!"
HG: "Yeah?  What do you use it for?"
Person: "..."
HG: "..."
Person: "Internet Explorer and sometimes I'll watch videos on there..."
Ruri: "You're an idiot."
HG: "Thanks Ruri.  I was going to say that, but didn't want to be impolite."

I will concur with this statement and I will admit that I do own Record of Lodoss War but not the special edition version.

xD

I've heard of it, and have issue 1 of the manga.  I'm not denying it's a great series.

I'm just not giving owners of the special edition box set special treatment.

But yeah, what's badass about it?  That's right.  I'm urging you to hijack this thread with elaboration on why people should watch Lodoss War for more than Deedlit and Pirotase.  I couldn't possibly understand because I've only read the first few chapters of the manga.

It's your time to shine. O_o

He can't because he's a robot.

As Will said its basically an animated D&D game, complete with hot elf chicks, epic sword fights, ancient evils, and the like.  Plus the characters in it are pretty awesome.

All the characters are indeed awesome.  I truly wept when the dorf warrior Ghim died.  And I'm always the dorf-racist making fun of all the dorty dorf characters in DnD games.  Haha take that dorfs!... but not Ghim ;_;

It was also sad when that vile Karla possessed poor misunderstood Woodchuck.  It's a good thing she finally gets sealed away in the TV series.  I still don't know what happened to poor Woodchuck ;__;

WAS IT NOT BAD ENOUGH TO HAVE GHIM DIE!?  *sob*

"Don't talk back to Darth Vader.  He'll getcha."

That sounds like the perfect motto for a new hyperguy.net banner image, if only someone (else) would make it.
