Men's Fashion? WTF
« on: November 09, 2007, 05:05:55 pm »
You know, I can't stand how whenever I wanna go shopping for a new outfit, theres always about NOTHING for men aside from stupid crap like polo shirts and jeans, where are OUR big fashion designs? I mean seriously, I don't see the point anymore, I go to Abercrombie or even goddamn JCPenny and all I see for high fashion amongst men is suits and dress shirts/slacks.

Is it so hard to give men something good? I mean I've been buying women's pants for gods sake, just so I can have something that looks better and hugs my legs better, all the man pants are too loose and really, whats the point unless you're running or something and don't wanna tear pants. I swear to God, I think part of it is this whole hip-hop society we live in, where its all about how loose fitting and low pants go, or how oversized our shirts are, which also aids the overweight and obese, Goddammit people, I'm pissed. FASHION RANTS GO!

I think the biggest problem with fashion today is that clothing of the same style's mass produced, which results in everyone who shops at the same store looking the same.

Agreed, which is why I'm complaining about it. We're wearing the same crap all around, and no one is designing ANYTHING new! Lame.

Well, at least there's custom t-shirts shops online, but they're a bit impractical.  Not to mention, copyright limits what you can put on them. D:

I'm actually considering getting those iron on sheets and making t-shirts myself.  Of course, I'd steal images and use them to make the shirts.  That's the only way a Viper GTS shirt will ever be made.

Maybe its becuase most places prefer to cater to people who have money, and most people who have money work for a living, and most people who work for a living generally wear (voluntarily or not) that kind of clothing.

And this surprises you?

I HATE polo shirts.  HAAAATE them.  The fabric weave sucks.  The solid colors with no images or patterns suck.  The collar and buttons suck.  I was forced to wear them in high school, and I am still being forced to wear them while working at Wal-Mart (why the FUCK did they decide to get rid of the blue vests!?).  Apparently looking like a goody-goody prep is considered professional, and I hate that belief with a passion.  Doing your job to the best of your ability - THAT'S being professional.

Clothing is not just something you use to cover your nakedness - it's a way to express yourself.  Also, I feel that people should be comfortable wherever they are, including work and school.  Personally, I like shirts that have cool images and artwork on them.  Give me Hot Topic any day.  >=P

As for pants... well... I usually wear jeans, and jeans are just jeans, imo.  They're blue most of the time... and sometimes they have extra pockets...  O_o;

But yah, you do kinda have a point there.  Maybe if we all started cosplaying in public, we'd start a new trend or something, lol...

This is a great post in this thread, if anything because you actually used the term "fabric weave". But yes, I fucking hate polo shirts.

I think the term you are looking for is Thrift Store and/or Goodwill Store.

As for fashion, I just still with T-shirts and jeans.  It's simple but very comfortable.

If I'm going out, I usually wear slacks or cargo pants, khakis sometimes, and BDUs other times.

I'm pretty random, I'm also a great example of wearing band shirts no one has ever heard of.
