Hey!  How about we list super duper project ideas we could pull off if we had teams of talented artists, designers, and coders at our disposal, and an unlimited budget?

...And neglect that we don't. >_>;;

I'd make:

Viper GTFO, a fighting game

VNs I wouldn't mind working on:

Gunyarock, a VN about Raika's neverending quest to acquire 10 copies of Gunyarock
A rewrite of Tokimeki Check In!, or possibly side stories(This would be easiest to do, since the game's assets aren't too hard to come by).
A Disgaea visual novel (Again, this would be easy to do considering the art assets are easy to come by).

A completely original VN in any of the following genres:

comedy
horror
parody
dating

I'm available for music and voice work, I'm also very good at writing from what I've been told.

Keep in mind music is one of the most irritatingly fucking expensive parts of making a game, so having an in-house composer that works for free is a damn blessing.

I can also remix and stuff, in case we just wanna say fuck it and use pre-existing music.

But rewarding nonetheless!

And maybe Raika would need to rip a hole in the space time continuum to make it possible.  Or fight Lavos.

But the moral is that sometimes if you want something strong enough there is no such thing as impossible.

I personally like either the Gunyarock RPG, the Congress of Awesome RPG or the Viper GTFO fighter.

Viper GTFO WOULD be quite fucking badass.

I did start writing a story for the RPG, I think it would be funny as its a nod to certain early 90's television shows and video game culture.

Basically, all of the forum members are online at once, all of them. And there is an equal number of guests, and the moon is red tonight, as the members all log on at once (somehow), the resulting guest and member ratio coupled with the magical properties of the red moon suck the members into a fantasy world comprised of physical manifestations of the forum and internet.

Guests, and members, walking around an RPG world comprised of the forum.

Some people view it as a blessing, others reject it, those who embrace it are assimilated into the world and actually believe they've lived there their entire lives there, this has caused people to be placed in charge of various locations, towns, cities, and empires. In particular, moderators and the like hold positions of power within the Awesome empire. There is a dark force that is attacking the members of the forum, and the guests as well...No one knows this dark force, but attempts are constantly being made to fight it. Only a name is known..."Impogam". And this force does NOT want the members to make it back to the real world...for reasons unknown...

Will Jose, Jason, JG, Yuna, Will, Bang, and other brave fighters of the congress be able to make it back to the real world? Or will they be lost forever in a digital weeaboo nirvana?

THE AWESOME CHRONICLE PART ONE
          THE GRIP OF IMPOGAM

I vote digital nirvana...

cause then I don't have to take moar preecalcyoolus.

and would that mean that the stuff in the forum store would be like...other kingdoms? cause going to RSR world cat, (is not actually a cat)

but would go there.

Votes either GTFO or arr-pee-geeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I wonder if we could find the original character roster for Viper GTFO.

EDIT: Bingo.

Lately i'v ben thinking what a Congress of Awesome version of SRW would be like

Instead of Super Robot Wars, it'd be Super Congress Wars and you'd have factions like the Waffle Federation Space Force and the Principality of Pancakes

If I get a Gundam-esque robot, it has to vaguely resemble one of Char's red mobile suits, or I will be most upset.

Though if I got to choose, I'd want a Gettar or Voltron-esque machine.

I agree with the turn-based SRPG idea, but I've never played any SRW game, I'm assuming they are similar to Fire Emblem... This way we would be able to put a larger cast of characters, instead of a group of 4 in RPG Maker games. I'm willing to help, and although my programing and sprite making skills are not really good, at least I have a lot of time in my hands.

It's a browser based VN engine that supports animation.  In early testing it was able to play scenes from Viper V6.

@ JG:
I don't really understand what's your engine about. Is it like something that allow users to play a game without downloading it?

It's a set of JavaScript files that supply the framework for generating games in your browser window.  All you have to do is supply a text file script and some graphics and the framework does all the heavy lifting of creating the HTML elements for you behind the scenes and updating their properties according to the script.

And using a web browser takes advantage of human behavior: users are far more likely to play something if its in their browser window than something they have to download to their desktop.  And it's cross-platform: should work the same on Windows as on a Mac or Linux.  Barring a plugin for sound (which just about everyone has anyway), it requires no additional browser components, which makes users happy.

It's a browser based VN engine that supports animation.  In early testing it was able to play scenes from Viper V6.

Guess that cat's out of the bag now.  I could explain it further, but maybe its just best to show you.  Take notice of effects like fading, text that displays one character at a time, scrolling backgrounds, overlaid images (moving mouths), saving and loading of state, and other things you expect real games to be able to do.  Everything you see is being done in only about 200 lines of game script.

I'm in the process of rewriting the engine for an object-oriented architecture, which will simplify the syntax and allow far finer control in the game script.  Thus, future demos will not be based on the same engine code as the one above.  Once I've got it rewirtten I'll translate the V6 demo for the new engine.
