Viper Noob
« on: July 07, 2010, 10:25:03 am »
So I've been following viper for a long time, mostly from gifs and GTS.

I think I played V16 before but it was in Japanese and I don't know kanji.

Does anyone know which games has voiced video scenes?

Pretty much all of them. They call it "Hyper Animation Series" to drive home that it's not like those visual novels that rely heavily on CG stills. Almost every scene in every game is animated to some degree, and every character is voiced, with the exception of the male protagonists in the earlier games because you're supposed to supply your own face/voice for those characters.

Just the flash-based games later in the series like GT1 and Viper Islands lacked voices as far as I know, and had less animation.

The original PC98 games were unvoiced until the "RS" versions.  All the Windows ones would have voice though, but not always for the male or minor female characters.

GT1 is also voiced, Rai.  Islands has some voice, in specific mini-games (like Mika-house I think)

Hm, my downloads must be broken then. I checked them just before I posted because my memory was hazy, even Mika's House. Unless maybe it was just specific parts that were voiced and I didn't play enough to hear them.

I think GT1 voice only works when installed. And because GT1 is so buggy it may not work in all scenes or requires Japanese mode to work.  I can't remember exactly what it takes but I'm certain vocal sound is there.
