Viper GT1 takes place after Viper GTB.  In it you play as a waiter at Akira's Anne Millers restuarant and have a chance at scoring with the girls of Viper GTB.  It has lots of cameos from other Viper characters too.  I'll post some screen shots in a bit.

If I remember correctly, the game states an exact number of months between the events of GTB and GT1; it's either six or eight.  Amazing, but after 4+ years (add on 3 years and 9 months for the difference between Rise and Rise After) the girls haven't aged a day.

Four girls are available in GT1. There's five or six ways to get Akira, and one each for Karin, Makoto, and Narsha (of whom HG neglected to post a picture!!)  To get them, you generally have to prove you're a strong, honest man to Akira; simply show interest an concern towards Karin; trick Makoto into thinking you'll spread naked pictures of her all over the web, or just say yes to the promiscuous Narsha.  There is a male love interest you can chase after (the manager, Aoki) but thankfully no H-scene with him.

Cameos include Ruri from Magical Gambler Totocal Chomi (V12/BTR), Alphina from The Devil Comes (V6/GTS), the Mysterious Man of the Green Leaves from Green Boy (M1), and a few of the Donarghe monsters from the Bravan series (V12/F50).  Plus the requisite Rise characters: Saki, Seed, Kiese, Irear, Tarma, and a pair of Seed's underlings.

Blade's got so much street cred, he's down with everybody.  He probably struts into Anne Millers and orders a plate of macaroni and cheese and a orange soda all of the time! :D

Each girl has a different movie which you see when you go on a date with them. With Akira you see Blade, with Makoto I think its Dirty Harry, and I haven't the foggiest what movie Karin likes. Maybe HG recognizes them better than I do.

I'm just wandering if there's a guide o a savefile or anything. I have the game but my computer turns it into a retarded baby talk language I can't understand.

MrGrim: You need to run GT1 in Japanese regional mode. The text is Shift-JIS encoded and running Windows in English regional mode shows the text as garbage. (Obviously, this requires 2000 or XP.)  This same problem exists on the Island games as well.

That's helpful but I have no idea how to run it in Japanese Regional mode.

The point is still moot though since I can read japanese anyway.

Now I just come off as a whiner but the tutorial doesn't work for Windows XP, at least the last step doesn't appear to. I do have a language bar now and that's nice, but no mIRC.

Too many superfluous details on that tutorial...
Go to Control Panel, Regional Options.
Change Locale to Japanese.
Change the Default Language Settings for System to Japanese as well.
Make sure the system can, at the very least, read code pages 932, 65000 and 65001. (These are probably already checked by default when Japanese is selected.)
Click Apply, wait for machine to reboot and enjoy Japanese games.

You dont need to mess with IME settings or the Language bar.

That's weird. It still puts it out in a retarded baby-talk language.

Oh well, anyone got a guide?

MrGrim: If you have Windows 2000, post the screenshots from the instructions I gave you so I can see what's going on and try to help.

Sorrowful: GT1 is practically non-existant these days. It requires alot of Japanese to play and it doesnt support save files or a gallery to view the scenes. Its only saving grace is that the wonderful pictures can be dissected with Grapholic.  With a few tricks, I've been able to extract most of the text as well - I'm kind of working on a translated script (among other things), but I imagine I haven't gotten past 5-10% of the text so far.

Nope, I use XP. Do you at least know which ones to click to get the different scenes?

I just realised you said you got graphaholic to work on GT1. How'd you manage that?
