Grapholic can decode the GT1 .dxr files without any effort. I don't believe an extra plug-in is required.

Interesting facts uncovered during day 1 of my GT1 scripting work, whihc is about 15% done now (all the opening script is complete up to the first save point):

Akira & Karin have been friends since they went to school together.

Akira dislikes people who use vulgarities.

Karin does not drink alcohol.

Makoto is a heavy drinker and gulps it down a stiff pace.  She claims alcohol has medicinal values though.

The Rise girls live in Tokyo. Makoto used to live in Osaka, for about 20 years.

Makoto is looking after her uncles dojo in Tokyo now, making 20000 yen a month. Paired with her waitress job, she makes more than the others but doesnt have much free time, and hasnt been back to Osaka to see her family since moving to Tokyo.

Makoto is training hard to soundly beat Akira in next years contest.

Awesome, I appreciate it - especially since mucking through date sims in Japanese is even harder than mucking through other...things in Japanese.

About 30% done scripting. Macromedia Director MX is making this much easier once I got it to display Shift-JIS properly.

Day #2 knowledge nuggets:

Makoto's dojo is currently offering a 20% discount.

Akira's punch will knock you out for 10 hours. (that must really hurt) As a good sport, she might take you back to her apartment to recuperate.  Makoto might take you to her dojo instead, which in turn gives you the key choice to unlocking her ending (take a short bath instead of a long one and you will get her ending)

Makoto follows pro-wrestling and asks around to find out what happened if she misses a show.

Akira's been working at Anne Mitter's for about five years.

Tarma can't make human women pregnant. (Actually, this is pointed out in GTB, too, so its not really new information, but it goes toward explaining why Makoto wants to do it with him.)

Makoto's favorite position is doggystyle.

Makoto doesn't know a thing about computers (which is how you take advantage of her and get her ending in GT1)

About 43% done.

Most of tonight's work was spent resolving the minor random events. I've confirmed that no minor random event will repeat, but major random events can if no choice is made to impact the story (I got decked by Akira three times and woke up in Makoto's dojo each time, but it repeated by choosing to take a long bath instead of a short one, see above post for more)

As such I only have a few new nuggets for tonight:

Romance films are Karin's favorite genre.

Akira seriously plays hard to get. You've got to call her like six or three times before she'll agree. Maybe that I hadn't built up stats enough though first.

You do absoletely nothing to stop Ruri from stealing everything on the table. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. You notice the table settings have disappeared and her blouse is all bumpy now, but you don't put two and two together.  Good thing the waitresses (and the manager) aren't around to see you blow that one.

55% done now. I've got almost all the at-work random events figured out, which is the key to getting to go on the dates. I have 3 or 4 than I've only scripted two of the three events for, one more month cycle and I'll get them cleared away, too. About 75% done on the phone call events, now that I've figured out that half of them are the invitations to a date.

More goodies:

Your family owns Anne Mitter's. Maybe not the chain (if there is one), but at least the store our girls work at. Its been known Anne Mitter's is called a "famiri-resu" (family restaurant), but it turns out that it's your family's, not just a classification.

Narsha hangs out at the game center.

Anne Mitter's is closed on Sundays. Its not just a coincidence everyone gets the day off on Sundays...

Tarma nearly passes out on the rollercoaster.

Karin doesn't want to go in the haunted house but Akira convinces her it won't be that scary.  Then again, Akira ends up screaming in the haunted house, too.  But then the ghosts scream louder when Makoto starts beating them up. (Classic Sogna humor...)

63% done. All random events mapped out. All that remains is the events that require a sequence of choices (ie, make one girl happy while making another girl mad at you)  I can get all four sex scenes with proper choices, but finding out what combination of bad choices leads to what is going to be more work.

Pretty sure your stats have no bearing on the normal events and endings.  I think they're only used to determine who comforts you at the end of the month when Akira turns you down.  I'm guessing if strength is your highest score, Makoto comforts you, if intelligence then Karin will, and if beauty than Aoki will.

Thus said, all you need to do is get Akira to normal face on the calendar/status screen at night (probably takes 3 or 4 good answers to her questions, plus one more for each wrong answer), then make phone calls at your house instead of training. If you go out on all four dates, the girl you scored highest with (and Akira in a tie) will go out with you on the 28th. I got Akira with the same 50 for strength, intelligence, and beauty that you start with.

On to tonight's tidbits:

Karin is practically blind without her glasses on, but she thinks they make her unattractive.

Karin doesn't know how to swim. Why the GT1 authors put this in there, I'll never know. She swims just fine during the escape in GTB.  It would be more believable if she merely didn't like to or was afraid to swim because of what happened in GTB.

Akira is afraid of becoming fat if she ate too much.  Thus, she doesn't eat much.

Akira likes black tea.

Karin likes green tea.

I may have seen a GT1 ending on 4chan just recently, involving Makoto and the Money Shot. I'll dig around and see if I can find the image again before it drowns in crappy animations.

EDIT: Crap, it has disappeared. I think I may have saved it last night, so we can go from there.

85% done now. I beleive I've gotten everything except the ending where Akira messes you up for moving too fast. That makes up may 2% fo the remaining.  I think the remaining 13% is garbage. Text chunks left over in the director files when they copied one file to make another or the same text reworded elsewhere in the same or a different file.

I've also cracked the save file format well enough to know what most of the fields are for.

New info today:

Makoto's dojo has no weights. She brings her students to the local gym for weight training. (As she puts it, a dojo is for moral training.)

Akira's favorite films are action flicks.

Makoto's favorite films are horror flicks.

Makoto likes banana juice.

Alphina does not tolerate the misconception that summoning a demon will grant you three wishes like a genie will.  You get one and only one with him.

Akira lives on the second floor, in the middle of the hall, in a building near a shopping center.

Akira's black tea is apple flavored.

I've basically got all the text work done that I think is possible. Everything left over is either unreachable text of some form or I just dont know what combinations of choices fold into the game.
In the future I plan to examine how each choice affects the five relationship scores. I've already determined three are for Akira, and one each for Karin and Makoto.

So, is there Viper G1 CG's in the gallery now, or not?

Just wondering if I should save my time from downloading a torrent. The gifs from G1 were something new to me, so I'm just not sure if I've seen the CG's.

Sorrowful: GT1 is practically non-existant these days. It requires alot of Japanese to play and it doesnt support save files or a gallery to view the scenes. Its only saving grace is that the wonderful pictures can be dissected with Grapholic.  With a few tricks, I've been able to extract most of the text as well - I'm kind of working on a translated script (among other things), but I imagine I haven't gotten past 5-10% of the text so far.

There is a GT1 Fan Dish that features the scenes, but good luck finding one.

Won my copy in an auction some time ago.

So let me get this straight. This game doesn't support any save files(hell no wonder this is and one other game are the ones i can't find save files on) and it doesn't have any type of gallery playback mode with its movies either? damn that sucks. So is there no way to save movies from the game or do i just get to watch them once and have to play the game over to watch them again.
