When I boot up it makes 10 clicking sounds, stops, and makes 10 more clicking sounds.

I've seen that several times - you've blown a head.  You may be able to recover some data by hooking the drive up as a slave in another machine, but any further attempts to write to or boot on that drive is just going to make matters worse.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:  Get an external drive for backup purposes.  You really do sleep better when crap like this occurs.

I have a 500GB hard disk packaged with some backup software I heard good reviews about but I'm too lazy to set it up.  Last time I used an external hard drive it was the external HD that ended up becoming corrupted >_>
Damn you, Maxtor.

Also is that new nVidia 9800 GX2 worth holding out on upgrading for?  You people should have opinions.  Discuss and enlighten me.  THAT IS AN ORDER.

Let's see...a Gateway P.o.S. I dont know a lot of the specifics but it's without a doubt a dwindling computer on the verge of implosion or spontaneous combustion.

I seem to have the "Midas Touch" when it comes to computers; anyone I touch simply falls apart.  Ugg..~_~

My 200GB stopped working the other day.  It's the one that has everything on it.  When I boot up it makes 10 clicking sounds, stops, and makes 10 more clicking sounds.  I think it may be off its spindle.

I don't know what I'll do.  I think I'll try a data recovery service as soon as I'm able.  Luckily, I backed up the site's files a month prior, but otherwise, all of my other projects are toast(Except for the VN game I'm making, which had all of its files on my laptop).

I'm surprised I didn't tell you to get an external disk enclosure to see if you could recover anything.  Very odd.

Virgins are too high maintenance.  That's why I prefer first borns.

Yeah but you get more bang for your buck out of the virgins (or since they are virgins no bang for your buck).

That's only if they can tell the difference after they've been deflowered.  *wink*

True but most vendors check that before accepting payment.

Not all virgins have an intact hymen U_U

So it's much easier in the modern day to lie about such things in court.  No legal recourse for the vendor U_U

Why waste virgins?

Waste Virginians.

The Elder Powers I deal with have horrible spelling. It's quite amusing really.

(e.g. They once told a prisoner "Your Money or your Grains!". They are still counting sheafs of wheat, thinking they're rich.
They also mixed up Azazel with Azureus, and now have all the seasons of LOST but no newborn souls to eat. LoL)

I don't have anything against Virginians, but they are MUCH cheaper than virgins, at least around here.

Well I would assume that, what with living in Virginia.

Yeah, I was just assuming that too as virgins are generally harder to come by than Virginians.
