The *OFFICIAL* Congress of Awesome Wrestling Thread
« on: August 29, 2006, 02:58:43 pm »
Since there's already a thread/board for every other nerd activity in existance, I've decided to start one on the Sport of Kings,* Professional Wrestling! Khris and I can't be the only wrestling fans on here.

Anways, Raw this past week was boring as shit aside from a few developments for Unforgiven:

- Edge will face John Cena for the heavyweight title in a TLC (Tables, Ladders and Chairs) match.
- Vince and Shane McMahon will team up with the Big Show against DX in a Hell in a Cell match.
- Jeff Hardy is the number one contender for the intercontinental title. This pales in comparison to Jeff Hardy actually working hard enough for me to notice him again.

On the TNA side:

- Christian Cage is fucking boring as a face and a heel. Why he's in the main event puzzles me.
- Samoa Joe needs to be in the main event.
- Alex Shelley, Johnny Devine and Kevin Nash are the funniest guys on the roster. Teaming them up was a great idea.

As for ECW:

- Sabu is going to take on Paul Heyman in an extreme rules match. I figure Paul's extreme security will extremely interfere in an extremely predictable extreme match that will leave me extremely bored for an extreme hour while everyone else who watches the extreme Sci-Fi channel will extremely wait for the next extreme show to come on. I think it's that extreme Who Wants to be a Superhero? show, but I'm not extremely certain. Extreme.
- Kelly Kelly should die. Extremely die in an extreme way. I'll give the person who does her in an extreme rim job.

Agree? Disagree? Did I not use the word extreme enough?

*Yes, I know it's not a real sport. Any of you faggots who jump in with "OMG IT'S SO FAKE" will get leg dropped so fast, brother.

I miss Bret Hart. I noticed Rey Mysterio's kinda like the "new" Bret Hart now.

Even though I didn't really watch wrestling at the time, dying from faulty stage equipment is no way for a wrestler to go.

How so? I haven't seen Rey since WCW.

When Rey was the heavyweight champ, he was pushed as a wrestler, instead of having some sort of gimmick, similar to Hart's title reign.

And it was Owen who died. Bret had to retire when Goldberg kicked him in the head too hard, and then he had a stroke while riding a motorcycle, which killed off any chance of wrestling again.

What I don't understand is why Rey Mysterio's in the heavyweight division at all.  He's moreso a cruiserweight.

It was just a way to use Eddie Guerrero's name after he died. Mysterio would've never gotten into the main event otherwise. Same deal with Chavo's Kerwin White character being killed off.

Gotcha. I really liked Rey in WCW. These days I hear he's basically worshipping Eddie Guerrero's soul or something.

Well Rey now is good, and besides the whole Eddie Guerrero Thing,he has proven himself as a Heavyweight title contender, leaving Rey in the Cruiserweight division would have been dumb holding him back.Even though some of Rey's Greatest matches where in WCW....(Have You ever seen the cruiserweight title match wit Rey against Eddie Guerrero,Title versus Mask...........Sweet ass match)

And Smackdown need him back badly, the recent epidemic of injuries on the smackdown roster is overwhelming, how far can smackdown go wit only Batista and Lashley as the only main faces there, and since John Cena is goin to smackdown (its obviouse, any true wrestling fan can see that....TORONTO......TLC............EDGE..........Its guranteed that Edge is not losing, plus Smackdown needs the help)

ECW is another story,i hate how they wanna bring back ECW but yet all the best wrestlers of ECW past are now jobbers!!!!..........The only thing interestin is C.M Punk, besides the fact that they only have one storyline(Big Show/Paul Heyman and Sabu) and i have to see ECW greats like Little Guido,Tony Mamaluke,Justin Credible,Danny Doring,C.W Anderson,Balls Mahoney and Stevie Richards lose to Pieces of Crap like Kevin Thorn,Test and MIKE KNOX!!!!,damn please jus end ECW and stop the torment.

You know, when I was a kid I saw a WWF match and I got see Bret Hart wrestle live, it was SO cool, I even had a big door poster of him that was signed and stuff. He was my favourite. Him and the original undertaker.

My mom threw away my Bret Hart poster when I was 12 :(

Well, seeing how he does so far in WWE (Sorry, our channels here didn't have WCW back then), he's a fan favorite. I don't recall him having a like an bag guy storyline ever. But that's just a thought. :)
